Citizens Bank® Sponsored Government Officials Kick-off Breakfast
- Kick-off to Imagine Career Week and Announcement of Summer Internship Pilot
- Keynote address will be delivered by Gov. Tom Corbett.
- Panel discussion will be moderated by Dave Malone (CEO of Gateway Financial and Chair of the PA Workforce Investment Board) and will feature insights from: Dan Fitzpatrick (CEO ofCitizens Bank PA, NJ, DE), Leo Girard (International President, United Steel Workers), Linda Lane (Superintendent, Pittsburgh Public Schools), Randy Dearth (CEO, LANXESS Corporation) and Ken Melani (CEO, Highmark).

JA in a Day
- Junior Achievement
- JA in a Day places volunteers in classrooms to teach students principles of work readiness, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship. Volunteers will teach the JA program (5-6 lessons) of one grade level in a single school day at an elementary and/or middle school (grades K-8).
PA Construction Career Day
- Forbes Road Career and Technical Center
- PA Construction Career Day was an industry-sponsored event for high school students to explore career opportunities in highway design, construction, and maintenance. Planned activities included operating heavy equipment, testing materials, surveying, welding, designing a bridge, use of safety equipment, concrete finishing, drilling, rebar tying, estimating a job, use of GPS/GIS information technology, and much more. Over 1,000 students from across Allegheny County attended the day of presentations and hands-on demonstration.

Family Support "Imagine Career Day"
- At Hosanna House for Family Support participants
- Featuring Peter Berner, President of Pilot Workplace Advisors, as keynote speaker
- Choose from workshops including "Show me the Money: Getting a Job and Kepping the Cash," "Working and Criminal Record Issues," "Gaining Marketable Skills through Education," and "Thinking like an Entrepreneur/Starting a Business"
- Lunch will be provided, as well as a brief presentation: "Where the Jobs Are: How to Find the Best Opportunities" by Vera Krofcheck, Research Manager at the Three Rivers Workforce Investment Board (TRWIB).
Pathfinders Youth Workforce Development Conference
- YouthWorks, Inc.
- Youth Track: 8am-2:30pm at the Pittsburgh Marriot City Center
- Adult Track: 11am-4:15pm
- Focuses on a single track geared to providing area youth and adults a meaningful career exploration and job-readiness experience.
- Participants are encouraged to attend the 5th Annual Career Fair afterwards.

11th Annual Student Leadership Conference- Day 1
- The Consortium for Public Education will host its 11th Annual “The Future Is Mine” Student Leadership Conference. Around 350 students are expected to participate in the Conference, which, among other opportunities, will introduce them to local employers through site visits and engage them in using their leadership and teambuilding skills to prepare presentations with students from outside their own districts. The Conference also provides speakers, workshops and opportunities for students to network with peers from across the region. In addition, student participants and their advisors help lay the groundwork for next year’s TFIM program in their schools.
